Crested Butte is one of my favorite places to view fall colors in Colo. Having visited many times, the best photo ops tend to be along Kebler and Ohio Passes.
The following shots were taken as I proceeded west out of the town (with a Mavic drone).

There are also pullouts providing some wonderful vistas near the road.

The three lakes hike (off a small gravel road, just west of the Horse Camp stop) offers some additional great views (directly off the trail)

Lost Lake (above), looks entirely different from the air.

On the road up to Kebler Pass (from Crested Butte) is a turn off for Ohio Pass! More cowbell.

I also spent some time near the town of Ouray. It was about 10 days early for the best color, but there were pockets showing off. Crystal Lake just up Red Mountain Pass did not disappoint.

These photos were taken along a pretty technical jeep road just outside of town. Not for the squeamish.
